Game Notes: (#5) Las Vegas at Foothill

+ Mickey Martinez, 2026 RHP - The 6-foot-3 sophomore put together another outstanding performance, holding a stout Foothill offense at bay, allowing 1 run over his six inning pitched with his mostly fastball/curveball mix with flashes of his changeup throughout. The low effort delivery with heavy reliance on his athleticism leads you to believe that he has not event scratched the surface of what is to come. His present confidence in his secondary mix paired with his loose, quick arm action makes him a very intriguing prospect heading into the playoffs, followed by the summer circuit.

+ Gage McCown, 2025 C - The junior backstop has quietly put together a huge Spring for the #5 ranked Wildcats, hitting .455 on the year including a key RBI double over the centerfielders head that helped put Las Vegas up 3-0 in the top of the first. He continued to put good swings together throughout his next next three at-bats, earning two walks. The present tools with his catch and throw as well as his ability to receive makes this a prospect to follow as we head into the playoffs.

+ Thayne Watson, 2025 OF/IF - Watson has continued to string together quality at-bat after quality at-bat each time we have been out to see him, adding two more hits in yesterday's critical Desert League matchup. With the Falcons down 8-1 in the bottom of the 7th, the Uncommitted junior barreled a line drive to centerfield to keep the line moving, eventually scoring for his second time in the game as Foothill made a late surge that ultimately came up just short. Keep an eye on Watson as a catalyst at the top of the Foothill lineup with an exciting playoff schedule set to take place next week.
